Terms and Conditions

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to any contract for the provision of a game session entered into between LE VILLAGE SECRET and consumers, referred to as “the purchaser(s).”

These terms and conditions apply regardless of the method of reservation, whether made through the website www.levillagesecret.fr or on-site with the staff at LE VILLAGE SECRET’s screening rooms.

The gaming area made available to players is referred to as “VILLAGE,” and the agreement governing its use is referred to as “AGREEMENT.”

The game session for which the BUYER makes a reservation and pays on the WEBSITE is referred to as a “GAME SESSION.”

LE VILLAGE SECRET reserves the right to modify or have modified all or part of these general terms and conditions of sale, as well as the content of its WEBSITE (www.levillagesecret.fr), at its sole discretion, at any time and without prior notice.

The general terms and conditions of sale are available on the WEBSITE and can be viewed upon request by contacting LE VILLAGE SECRET staff.

In accordance with the very nature of the game, LE VILLAGE SECRET grants USERS the right to occupy the “VILLAGE” for a maximum of 70 minutes (seventy-five minutes). The sole and exclusive purpose of occupying the “VILLAGE” is to participate in a game organized by LE VILLAGE SECRET, which must be selected at the time of reservation.

USERS agree that their time in the “VILLAGE” shall be limited to a maximum of 70 minutes, regardless of whether or not they have managed to find all the clues and solve all the puzzles (the duration of their time in the “VILLAGE” may vary depending on the chosen investigation and the staff on site). This is a fundamental part of the game. At the same time, USERS agree that the game may end before the 70 minutes are up, particularly if they have managed to find all the clues and solve all the puzzles in less than 70 minutes; this will not result in any adjustment or refund.

Admission to the “VILLAGE” is only permitted upon presentation of the reservation confirmation email (sent to the PURCHASER shortly after the payment process is complete).

Due to the game’s complexity, USERS under the age of 10 cannot fully participate (unless otherwise specified). Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Minors over the age of 15 do not necessarily need to be accompanied by an adult. If there is any doubt regarding a USER’s age, LE VILLAGE SECRET reserves the right to request proof of identity.

USERS are required to maintain the “VILLAGE” and all of its facilities (including, but not limited to: decorations, furnishings, etc.) in good condition and to use them in accordance with their authorized purpose. Accordingly, the USER acknowledges in this AGREEMENT that any damage caused intentionally or by unauthorized use of the room and its equipment will be billed to the USER.

Furthermore, the USER is required to use “THE VILLAGE” and its facilities in such a way as not to cause or risk causing any damage to other USERS, or to the premises, equipment, or staff of LE VILLAGE SECRET.

Throughout their time on the premises of VILLAGE SECRET, the USER agrees to behave respectfully, to comply with the rules, and to cooperate with the staff of VILLAGE SECRET.

As such, LE VILLAGE SECRET does not tolerate any form of violence—whether verbal or physical, in the form of harassment or intimidation—toward its employees, and therefore reserves the right to deny access to its premises to anyone whose behavior does not comply with the guidelines outlined above.

LE VILLAGE SECRET also reserves the right to deny entry to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as a safety measure for that person and those around them.

Under any of the conditions listed above, denial of access does not entitle the individual to any compensation or refund.

Due to the nature of the game, no recordings may be made in the “VILLAGE.”

Therefore, the use of video and/or audio recording devices (including, but not limited to: cell phones, cameras, GoPros) is strictly prohibited. Any use of such devices may result in the game being halted entirely for the entire team, without any right to compensation.

THE SECRET VILLAGE expects its USERS not to disclose details of the game, either directly or indirectly. Any disclosure, whether partial or complete, would violate the commercial interests of THE SECRET VILLAGE.

The prices charged by LE VILLAGE SECRET are listed on the WEBSITE in the “Book” section and are also posted at the reception desk at LE VILLAGE SECRET’s premises and available upon request.

The prices listed are in euros, inclusive of all taxes, and reflect the VAT rate applicable on the date of the order; any change in the VAT rate may affect the price of the services.

LE VILLAGE SECRET reserves the right to change prices at any time; such changes will not affect reservations that have already been made and confirmed. In all cases, the service will be billed based on the rates in effect at the time of booking.

Use of “THE VILLAGE” is subject to a reservation and advance payment. The PURCHASER must make the reservation on THE SECRET VILLAGE’s WEBSITE.

All reservations are made directly on site or through the WEBSITE, subject to the availability listed on the website. A reservation is considered firm and final only after receipt of the reservation confirmation email, which is sent to the PURCHASER upon completion of the payment process.

In certain exceptional cases, LE VILLAGE SECRET staff may make the reservation on behalf of the PURCHASER if the PURCHASER is unable to make the reservation themselves on the WEBSITE. In these specific cases, the BUYER unreservedly agrees that this type of reservation does not entail any liability on the part of LE VILLAGE SECRET or its staff, as the staff are acting solely as data entry operators following the instructions provided by the BUYER.

The BUYER therefore waives any right to seek redress for misuse, a breach of the confidentiality of their data, or fraudulent use of their account.

A reservation may not be transferred or resold for commercial purposes. If a reservation is transferred or resold in violation of this provision, the holder of the reservation will be denied access.

If USERS are late for a reserved SESSION, LE VILLAGE SECRET may decide whether or not to start the game. In any case, the “VILLAGE” must be vacated at the time specified in the original reservation.

LE VILLAGE SECRET reserves the right to deny access to USERS who are 15 minutes or more late.

The schedules will always be included in the confirmation emails sent by LE VILLAGE SECRET.

If fewer USERS show up to participate in the gaming SESSION than was originally planned at the time of booking: the PURCHASER and/or the USERS are not entitled to a refund of the price difference.

If more USERS show up to participate in the game SESSION than were initially anticipated at the time of booking, the price difference must be paid before participating in the game, subject to the limit on the number of players (USERS) allowed in the “VILLAGE.”

LE VILLAGE SECRET reserves the right to refuse any reservation from a BUYER who has not paid for all services billed to them.

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU BE PUNCTUAL AND ARRIVE ON TIME FOR THE GAME SESSION YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO RESERVE. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM THE OTHER PLAYERS.
ANY DELAY WILL RESULT IN A SHORTENING OF PLAY TIME OR CANCELLATION OF YOUR GAME.

The products, menus, and beverages offered by LE VILLAGE SECRET and its Tavern, as selected by the Customer, are those listed on the Website and displayed on-site at the time the Order is placed, subject, however, to the quantities of products available on-site (the “Product(s)”).

Before placing any order on the Website or in-store, Customers are strongly encouraged to review the list of allergens (available for viewing and upon request) to familiarize themselves with the main characteristics of the products, particularly any allergens that are present or may be present.

THE SECRET VILLAGE does not have a separate preparation or cooking area for vegetarian or halal items.

Customers acknowledge that the Products purchased:
, if taken home, must be consumed promptly and must never be frozen, regardless of the method of ordering;
may not be resold or used for any other commercial purpose;
may not correspond to the Customers’ perception of the Products at the time they placed their Order, given the manner in which the Products are presented photographically or digitally on the internet or in any other communication medium, even though LE VILLAGE SECRET makes every effort to ensure that the photographic or digital representation of the Products is as accurate as possible.

In accordance with Article 121-21-8 of the Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal may not be exercised for contracts for the provision of lodging services (other than residential lodging), goods transportation services, car rentals, food services, or recreational activities that must be provided on a specific date or during a specific period. Consequently, no reservation may be canceled or refunded except in the event of a cancellation initiated solely by LE VILLAGE SECRET.

In the latter case, the amount of the initial reservation will be refunded.

The BUYER is responsible for the accuracy of the information entered on the online reservation form on the WEBSITE.

The BUYER agrees to receive information and promotional offers from LE VILLAGE SECRET via email or on their cell phone by checking the consent box on the WEBSITE or by subscribing to the newsletter.

Any BUYER and/or USER who enters their phone number on LE VILLAGE SECRET’s WEBSITE hereby agrees to be contacted by phone or text message.

By providing the contact information of other players/USERS (first and last names, phone numbers, email addresses), the BUYER authorizes LE VILLAGE SECRET to send information and promotional offers to them.

LE VILLAGE SECRET undertakes not to disclose its USERS’ personal data to any third-party company, except upon request by an authority empowered by law and in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

The USER agrees to comply with all safety measures provided to them, whether set forth in the contract, posted on-site, or communicated verbally by LE VILLAGE SECRET staff during the briefing.

Smoking is strictly prohibited on the premises and within the “VILLAGE.”

Each USER agrees to familiarize themselves with and comply with the safety and fire prevention guidelines, as well as the location of emergency exits. These are clearly marked on the premises of LE VILLAGE SECRET.

As such, it is strictly prohibited to block emergency exits, which must remain clear under all circumstances. The USER may use the emergency exits only if the situation requires evacuation of the premises (e.g., in the event of a fire). Any misuse and/or unauthorized opening of these exits by one or more USERS will result in the termination of the current game or legal action.

THE USER is aware that it is strictly prohibited to bring food, beverages, or other consumables onto the premises or into “THE VILLAGE” that could interfere with the smooth operation of the activities and services offered by THE SECRET VILLAGE. It is also prohibited to bring in items considered to be (1) physical hazards (explosive, flammable, oxidizing, pressurized or liquefied gas, corrosive), (2) hazardous to health (toxic, corrosive to the skin, irritant/sensitizer, carcinogenic/teratogenic), and (3) hazardous to the aquatic environment.

Photos of each team of USERS may be taken after the game session. These photos may be used by LE VILLAGE SECRET to feature on its WEBSITE or other digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

LE VILLAGE SECRET shall not be held liable for any use of the photos by USERS and/or the PURCHASER.

The entire LE VILLAGE SECRET—including its tavern, its various areas, and its “VILLAGE”—is equipped with video surveillance and audio monitoring systems.
These systems help ensure the safety of customers, staff, and LE VILLAGE SECRET, but some also allow staff to monitor gaming sessions and assist USERS as needed.

This feature is intended solely for security and/or gameplay purposes and does not record USERS' gaming SESSIONS in any way.

The Website and the Application constitute a work of the mind within the meaning of the applicable provisions of the Intellectual Property Code. As such, LE VILLAGE SECRET, in its capacity as the author of this original creation, is entitled to the protection and rights reserved by law. All content (text, trademarks, logos, sounds, or images) appearing on the pages of the Website and the Application is subject to French and international legislation on copyright, trademark law, and other rights, and is protected by the Intellectual Property Code.

Downloaded items such as software, files, illustrations, data, or any other content are the property of LE VILLAGE SECRET. Photographs, text, slogans, drawings, images, animated sequences (with or without sound), and all other works included on the Website and in the App are the property of LE VILLAGE SECRET or of third parties who have authorized LE VILLAGE SECRET to use them. All trademarks and trade names used on the Site and the App are registered trademarks or distinctive marks belonging to LE VILLAGE SECRET or its partners, who have granted LE VILLAGE SECRET the right to use these trademarks and trade names, as well as the necessary license for that purpose.

Any reproduction, display, distribution, use, or modification—by any means whatsoever and on any medium whatsoever—and, more generally, any use for commercial or any other purpose of all or part of the Site and the Application or of any of the logos and/or trademarks is strictly prohibited and constitutes an act of infringement that may result in liability for the perpetrator. This prohibition applies regardless of the method of reproduction, display, and/or modification, and regardless of its duration.

Any creation of links to the Site and the Application, any framing of the Site, and, more generally, any use of any element comprising the Site is subject to the prior and express authorization of LE VILLAGE SECRET, which may be revoked at any time at its sole discretion. LE VILLAGE SECRET reserves the right to request the removal of any link to the Site that has not been or is no longer authorized, and to seek damages to compensate for any loss or harm suffered as a result.

These general terms and conditions and any contract entered into that incorporates these terms and conditions are governed by French law, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts.

Complaint Procedures

The complaint resolution process is free of charge. Anyone can file a complaint—either on their own or through a consumer organization—in several ways:

Admissibility of Claims:

Claims must be filed within one month of the date of the first payment of benefits, and processing may take an additional month.

Any compensation requires that the claimant provide proof, by any means available to them, of the payment date as well as proof of the session reservation.

Supporting documentation proving the actual occurrence of the loss may be requested (receipts, invoices, etc.)

After notifying the complainant, LE VILLAGE SECRET may, if appropriate, conduct a thorough investigation when it deems it necessary. This will result in longer processing times.

Appeal:

Any complainant who wishes to have their case reviewed after the initial complaint has been resolved may file an appeal under the same conditions as the initial complaint or through a consumer organization.

Referral to the Ombudsman

Finally, if the claimant is not satisfied with LE VILLAGE SECRET’s response or has not received a response within two months of filing the claim, the claimant may refer the matter to the Tourism Ombudsman, who has jurisdiction over any dispute concerning all services covered by these general terms and conditions of sale. The mediation process is free of charge.
